Turn Your Whale into a Narwhal!
My whale pattern was originally written as a narwhal pattern! So here’s how you can crochet a narwhal too!
This is a modification guide for my crochet whale pattern. To make this narwhal, first follow along with my free whale pattern and then use the following modification guide to make the horn and complete your narwhal.

To make and assemble the horn, follow along with the written pattern below!

Skills and Abbreviations for the Horn (In U.S. terms)
MR = Magic Ring (Magic Circle)
SC = Single Crochet
INC = Increase
BLO= Crochet in Back Loop Only
FO = Fasten off
Sewing
Recommended Materials:
Super Bulky Weight Yarn (#6) in white (or the color of your choice)
6.5 mm Crochet Hook (or a similar hook size)
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Stitch Marker (Optional)
Pins (Optional)
If you made your whale out of a different yarn or hook size, use the same size for the horn as well!
Horn:
Using White
R1 4 SC in a MR
R2 4 SC in BLO
R3 [SC, INC] x 2 (6)
R4-6 6 SC (6)
FO with a long tail for sewing.
Add stuffing.
If you haven’t yet, please make sure to follow my whale pattern to make the whale before continuing onto assembly for the horn.
Assembly:
Sew the horn onto the top of the body, at equal distance from each eye. It should be placed on rounds 3 to 5 of the body. Or in other words, the front edge of the horn would start between rounds 2 and 3 and the back of the horn should end between rounds 5 and 6.
